InformaCast Helps Locate Lost Children During Community Events

Freedom Fest in Morgan Hill, Calif., a two-day Fourth of July celebration that draws more than 45,000 visitors and hundreds of volunteers, needed a more reliable way than repeater-based radios to reach staff and first responders with timely, verifiable emergency information and to combat misinformation during incidents.

Organizers deployed Singlewire’s InformaCast mass notification platform, preloading scenarios (lost child, fire, evacuation, medical, all clear) and sending targeted text alerts from the mobile app. The system helped volunteers locate two lost children—reducing reunification time from 15–17 minutes to about five—while enabling rapid “all clear” messages that cut radio chatter and improved overall event safety.
