Healthcare Facilities Communicate with Crisis Teams Using InformaCast

Riverside Healthcare, which serves the Kankakee, Illinois area across 36 locations, needed a more versatile way to get critical information to staff to protect patients and manage crises. The organization wanted to replace its legacy paging system with a mobile-capable solution that could quickly notify large and targeted groups, including remote sites during events like severe weather.

Riverside implemented InformaCast, initiated by switchboard operators, to deliver alerts to mobile apps, desktops, IP speakers and phones—reaching more than 400 users. The system enabled rapid coordination (for example, a Code Yellow response to a carbon-monoxide patient influx), reduced callbacks, improved situational awareness across departments, and proved cost-effective and easy to administer, with plans to expand desktop-phone integration and automated alerts.
