Centralia College, Washington’s oldest community college serving about 6,000 students and 600 staff, struggled with outdated phones and four separate emergency-notification systems (email, SMS, desktop alerts and audible paging). The fragmented tools required desktop access, separate logins and slowed the college’s ability to quickly reach the campus during dangerous or disruptive events.
After upgrading to Cisco VOIP phones with Ednetics, Centralia implemented InformaCast Fusion to consolidate alerts into one platform. The college can now push synchronized messages to digital signage, desk and mobile phones, email, speakers and desktops via a mobile app, use prebuilt templates for scenarios like life‑and‑limb emergencies and severe weather, eliminate the four legacy systems and dramatically speed and broaden campus-wide notifications.
