A Singlewire Software Case Study
W.P. Davidson High School in Mobile, Ala., working with Mobile County Public Schools, needed a new mass-notification system after a 2017 shooting revealed that multiple siloed tools and manual processes left staff vulnerable and overburdened. The district selected the large, 1960s-era high school as a pilot site to find a scalable solution that would unify disparate systems, improve response times and restore staff confidence.
The school standardized on InformaCast as the central alerting platform and integrated it with existing Cisco IP phones, IP speakers, digital signage, clocks, door locks, bells and third‑party systems from vendors such as Extron, Industry Weapon and Igor, plus gunshot detection. The result is a single-button, centralized ecosystem that reduced manual work and errors, saved time and money, leveraged existing infrastructure, and now serves as a model for rolling out improved safety and communication across the district.
