Case Study: Nucleus Security Achieves Up to 20x Faster Query Performance with SingleStore

A SingleStore Case Study

Preview of the Nucleus Security Case Study

Nucleus Security Replaces MariaDB with SingleStore and Improves Query Speeds Up to 20x

Nucleus Security, a vulnerability management platform launched in 2018, needed a database that could keep up as its customers moved from monthly or quarterly scans to weekly and daily scanning. Its existing MariaDB system became a bottleneck, limiting the company’s ability to scale into the enterprise market and handle highly relational, time-stamped vulnerability data on AWS.

Nucleus Security replaced MariaDB with SingleStore on AWS, taking advantage of its MySQL-compatible syntax to migrate with minimal code changes. With SingleStore, the team cut slow query times by up to 20x, ingested more than 100,000 assets in under an hour versus 5,000 before, reduced AWS infrastructure costs by about 3x, and successfully expanded into large enterprise accounts.
