Case Study: Fanatics achieves real-time analytics and simpler data operations with SingleStore

A SingleStore Case Study

Preview of the Fanatics Case Study

How Fanatics Powered Their Way to a Better Future

Fanatics, the global leader in licensed sports merchandise, needed a better way to support its rapidly growing, event-driven ecommerce and analytics environment. As it expanded across leagues, teams, and global franchises, its mix of open source tools, Lucene-based indexers, and separate analytics platforms became too complex to manage, especially during peak traffic and fast-changing business events.

Fanatics adopted SingleStore to power its analytics layer, replacing Lucene-based indexers and converting Spark and Flink jobs to SQL-based processing. With SingleStore’s high-performance ingest and query capabilities, Kafka and JSON support, and SQL interface, Fanatics unified analytics on one platform, regained enterprise data integration, and improved self-service reporting and ad hoc querying at scale, with the system growing to roughly 3 billion rows and handling about 2,500 events per second, or 4 million events per day.
