McKinsey & Company needed a faster, more reliable way to give its C-suite instant visibility into business performance through executive dashboards. Its existing mix of Hadoop, data warehouses, and caching tools made refreshes slow and irregular, created data silos, and complicated analytics across more than 12 ERP applications spanning finance, support, sales, and marketing. SingleStore was selected as the underlying database platform to simplify the data infrastructure and support real-time operational analytics.

SingleStore implemented a real-time ingestion architecture with Apache Kafka feeding directly into its unified database, while also integrating with existing BI and analytics tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, and Spark. The result was a single source of truth for executive reporting, near real-time access to KPIs, and dramatically faster query performance, with information that once took days now arriving in minutes. SingleStore also helped eliminate spreadsheet-based silos and enabled high-concurrency, sub-second analytics across live and historical data.
