Telecom New Zealand (now Spark) enhances customer experience with Sinefa’s Customer Facing Application Visibility

Spark (formerly Telecom New Zealand) is a leading New Zealand telco providing fixed, mobile and IT services to millions of consumers and businesses. Spark needed to give each customer deep, application-level visibility of their Internet services—showing National vs International traffic usage—using a solution that was fast to deploy, integrated into the network core with no extra hardware, and could scale across its entire customer base; they selected Sinefa’s Customer Facing Application Visibility (Visibility-as-a-Service).

Sinefa delivered a cloud-based Visibility-as-a-Service from the network core, aggregating traffic from multiple data centres to provide real-time and historical application visibility, detailed data billing, and drill-down into hosts, apps, locations, URLs and users. The Sinefa deployment scaled from pilot segments to the whole customer base without hardware, gave customers immediate centralized visibility, and improved Spark’s and customers’ ability to perform faster root-cause analysis—resulting in better customer experience and delighted customers.
