Preview of the Unitel Group Case Study

How Unitel used A2P Monetization to generate new revenue and modernize their network

Unitel Group, Mongolia’s largest 4G LTE network operator, needed a way to control incoming A2P messaging traffic, block grey routes, and turn messaging into revenue while improving security and subscriber privacy. The company also wanted to modernize its network without making major CAPEX investments, so it partnered with Sinch and used Sinch’s A2P Monetization service.

Sinch implemented a managed A2P messaging solution using its SMS Firewall and an exclusive aggregator agreement to divert traffic from grey routes to legal, monetized channels. As a result, Unitel Group now monetizes more than 1 million A2P messages per month and has cut OPEX costs by 60%, while freeing staff to focus on customer service and helping modernize the network for a 5G-ready future.
