esb innovation was developing the WestWave project, a wave energy site on Ireland's west coast. Their challenge was to obtain accurate metocean design parameters needed to properly dimension their measurement buoys and other critical infrastructure. They engaged the vendor, Sinay, for a solution.

Sinay computed extreme wave height values for 1, 5, 10, and 50-year return periods using an existing long-term wave database. They then applied wave propagation analytical methods to provide these crucial extreme values for a location nearer to the coast. This provided esb innovation with the essential data required to confidently design and engineer their project's infrastructure.
