BRK Ambiental, a wastewater utility company, faced multiple emissions-related challenges: choosing which mitigation projects delivered the best financial and environmental performance, determining how many top projects fit within a given budget, and keeping abatement models dynamic as project data changed. To consolidate cross-department collaboration and align decarbonization with business planning, BRK Ambiental adopted SINAI’s Low-Carbon Scenarios Module on the SINAI platform.

SINAI delivered automated cash-flow and carbon-flow modeling, dynamic Marginal Abatement Cost Curves, and a collaborative platform to model projects by implementation stage and update scenarios as data changed. Using SINAI, BRK identified a more cost-effective mitigation option than previously assumed, raised total abatement potential to 130,487 tCO2e, engaged multiple teams and the board within two months, and used metrics (for example an average marginal cost of $7.40/tCO2e for fleet electrification) to prioritize investments and refine strategy.
