RSI uses SIMUL8 to model 100% remote food attack response planning

Risk Sciences International (RSI) was tasked by The National Center for Food Protection and Defense to develop a simulation tool for exploring surge capacity in response to various potential terrorist attacks on the US food supply chain. The challenge was to create an adaptable tool that could model different attack scenarios and provide fast, accurate results for emergency planning teams without requiring them to have prior simulation software knowledge. They used SIMUL8 software for this project.

Using SIMUL8's advanced features, including its unique ASP tool, RSI developed the web-enabled Food Attack Response Exploration (FAREx) tool. This solution allows users to enter scenario data via a website to run simulations that measure the overall impact of an attack, hospital bed capacity, resource requirements, and more. The results provided critical, measurable data for the decision-making process, enabling stakeholders to develop emergency preparedness plans and minimize the threat to public health. SIMUL8's flexibility was key to the project's success.
