Geisinger Health System, a major integrated health service organization, needed to implement a new on-demand hospital meal delivery service across its complex network of inpatient units. The solution implemented, an innovative six-zone layout identified through simulation, achieved a 98% service level guarantee with meals delivered within 45 minutes. SIMUL8 enabled Geisinger to successfully implement the system, which also achieved an effective staff utilization rate of 88.4%.
