The Naval Postgraduate School Boosts Allies’ Cyber Readiness with the SimSpace Cyber Force Platform’s High Fidelity IT/OT Simulation

The Naval Postgraduate School’s Energy Academic Group (EAG) needed a fast, realistic way to train allied militaries on defending and attacking critical infrastructure but lacked a flexible, multi-dimensional IT/OT simulation environment. Facing a tight deadline to recreate an actual power‑plant attack for classroom and red/blue team exercises, NPS selected the SimSpace Cyber Force Platform to provide the commercial, high‑fidelity cyber range and range design tools required.

SimSpace worked with NPS to customize a power‑plant template (PLCs, HMIs, workstations and networks) and deliver a scalable Cyber Force range that supported four concurrent red/white/blue teams during a two‑day exercise. The tailored SimSpace solution enabled realistic OT/IT attack replication, live performance data and tooling, left many participants continuing training after the event, and helped improve the overall cybersecurity posture of participating allies.
