Case Study: Raycore Lights optimizes thermal design iteration with SimScale

A SimScale Case Study

Raycore Lights were able to optimize their iterative design process through cloud-based thermal analysis

Raycore Lights, an electronics lighting company, needed to shorten its design and prototype lifecycle while keeping costs under control. To avoid the high financial barrier of traditional CAE tools and outsourced thermal analysis, the team looked for a more affordable way to perform thermal simulation for its new overhead lighting product and maintain full control of the design process. They chose SimScale’s cloud-based simulation platform to support their electronics cooling work.

Using SimScale, Raycore Lights ran conjugate heat transfer analyses in the cloud, iterating on heatsink geometry and testing multiple CAD variations in parallel. The team completed about 7–8 simulations, each taking roughly five hours, totaling around 450 core hours, and was able to evaluate designs much faster than using local resources. SimScale’s support helped them reduce assumptions, improve thermal performance, and likely limit physical prototyping, saving both time and money.
