Pektron cuts FEA time from weeks to days with SimScale and achieves 5°C thermal accuracy

Pektron, a UK-based manufacturer of bespoke automotive electronics, faced the challenge of evaluating thermal limits and mechanical resonance for their dense PCB designs within extremely short, one-week turnaround windows. They needed a fast, accessible simulation tool to integrate into their agile workflow without the complexity and IT overhead of traditional FEA software, leading them to adopt the cloud-based simulation platform from SimScale.

By implementing SimScale, Pektron's team was able to run concurrent thermal and vibration simulations in the cloud. This solution allowed them to iterate designs digitally, achieving thermal simulation accuracy within 5°C of physical tests. As a result, they confidently substituted expensive metal enclosures for cost-effective alternatives and designed a single universal vibration jig for multiple projects, transforming their FEA workflow from weeks to days and significantly reducing both costs and physical testing time.
