OnLogic Improved Their Design Time through Cloud-Based Simulation from SimScale

OnLogic used SimScale’s cloud-based simulation platform to help develop its Karbon 700 high-performance rugged edge computer. The team faced a demanding thermal challenge, needing to meet strict performance requirements while also enabling fast design iterations to keep pace with an aggressive development timeline.

With SimScale, OnLogic ran conjugate heat transfer simulations in the browser, tested multiple design iterations in parallel, and collaborated more easily across the team with support from SimScale experts. The result was a simulation turnaround of about 12 hours, 3–5 design variants tested in parallel, and roughly 95% accuracy versus physical testing, helping OnLogic save tens of thousands of dollars in material costs and reduce R&D time.
