Doron Shalev Engineering LTD. cut project delivery times from 4 months down to 1 week

Doron Shalev Engineering LTD. is a multidisciplinary engineering firm specializing in civil, aeronautical, structural, and CFD analysis. For a new 200-meter pedestrian walkway in Be’er Sheva, the firm needed to assess pedestrian wind comfort, cyclist safety, and canopy loads in a gusty environment, but traditional wind tunnel testing would have been costly and too limited for the level of detail required. They turned to SimScale and its cloud-native CFD platform, using the lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) solver for the analysis.

With SimScale, Doron Shalev Engineering ran both transversal and longitudinal wind studies, extracted pressure distributions on the canopy, and extended the work into structural and aeroelastic analyses to evaluate flutter risk. The simulations took about 50 minutes each and only 0.4 GPU hours, helping reduce simulation time by roughly 80% and cut project delivery from 4 months to 1 week. Doron Shalev Engineering has completed 9 projects with SimScale so far, gaining faster turnaround and the ability to take on more complex wind-analysis work.
