CRYO Science used thermal simulation with SimScale to improve the efficiency of its cryo chamber

CRYO Science, an equipment innovator for cryogenic applications in medicine, physiotherapy, sports and beauty, faced high liquid-nitrogen consumption and thermal bridging in a whole‑body single‑person cryo chamber. To avoid costly physical prototyping, CRYO Science turned to SimScale’s cloud CAE thermal simulation platform to identify heat-flux hotspots and optimize insulation and structural connections.

With support from SimScale engineers, CRYO Science ran steady‑state conjugate heat transfer analyses (three runs, average 200 min) and tested two design versions that separated the cold air duct from the steel frame, added an insulation panel and used long bolts to break the thermal bridge. The SimScale-driven solution eliminated the thermal bridging, brought steel temperatures close to the 292 K target, produced a 1.5 °C improvement, delivered an estimated ROI of under $30k, reduced prototyping time and was implemented into production.
