Bold Valuable Technology Made the Switch to Cloud-Based Simulation for Battery Cooling with SimScale

Bold Valuable Technology, a design and manufacturing company serving motorsport and aerospace industries, needed a better way to develop a battery concept for a high-end motorsport electric series. The team had to design mechanical packaging and integrate a cooling system around a selected cell, but their older approach of analytical calculations and physical testing was too simplified and difficult to manage, especially with global suppliers. They turned to SimScale’s cloud-based CFD platform to model battery cooling more accurately.

Using SimScale, Bold Valuable Technology performed solid heat transfer, incompressible fluid, and conjugate heat transfer simulations to compare cooling concepts, estimate pressure drops, and evaluate thermal behavior across different flow rates and boundary conditions. The project involved more than 100 simulations with an average runtime of 30 core hours, helping the team reduce experimental testing, improve design decisions, and identify issues before prototyping. Bold reported that SimScale’s support, browser-based workflow, and flexible cloud computing made the process cost-effective and practical for remote collaboration.
