Spittal Community First School - Customer Case Study

Spittal Community First School, a small primary school in Northumberland, wanted to communicate with families more proactively, in a focused and flexible way. The school turned to SIMS and its SIMS Parent app to help bridge the communication gap between parents, carers, teachers, and pupils.

SIMS implemented the SIMS Parent app, giving the school a secure, easy-to-use way to share updates, behaviour and achievement notifications, year-group information, and reports. The results were strong: 99% of parents/carers use the app, attendance rose to 97%, and the school saved one hour a day answering fewer calls, 15 minutes per class per day on paperwork, and £2,000 a year on paper and photocopying. SIMS also helped the school improve remote learning communications during the pandemic and gave staff more time to focus on teaching and pupil support.
