How the largest school in the world took control of its data

City Montessori School, the world’s largest school with more than 55,000 pupils across 18 campuses in Lucknow, India, was struggling with fragmented data after years of campus-level customisation of its management information system. The inconsistent and inaccessible information made it difficult to compare performance across campuses, standardise assessments and reporting, or make effective school-wide decisions.

SIMS, implemented by Capita, replaced the old setup with a single cloud-hosted, standardised MIS across all 18 campuses. The rollout delivered standardised assessments and report cards, an admissions module, active use of SIMS for report card generation, and a parent app rollout in progress, while setting the school up for centralised dashboards and whole-school metrics; the project also migrated data for nearly 56,000 pupils within seven months.
