Driving Parental Engagement through the SIMS Parent app

Goffs Academy, a secondary school in Hertfordshire, wanted a better way to keep parents informed about their child’s day and progress and to strengthen parental engagement. Working with SIMS, the school looked for a mobile-friendly solution that would give busy, digitally savvy parents convenient access to live school information.

SIMS implemented the SIMS Parent app, giving parents secure access to timetable, homework, attendance, achievement and behaviour records through their smartphones or tablets. The app improved communication between home and school, helped with safeguarding and reduced admin around logins; within a couple of months, 70% of parents were using it, and the school reported positive feedback and more meaningful conversations with families.
