A SIMS Case Study
Beal Vale Primary School, a small one-form-entry primary school near Oldham, needed a better way to manage its back-office systems and reduce the heavy manual burden on its small office team. After briefly moving away from SIMS, staff found they were copying data between systems, printing spreadsheets, manually handling attendance, and struggling to onboard new colleagues, so the school turned back to SIMS to improve integration and save time.
SIMS, implemented with help from Pennine Education Ltd, provided the SIMS MIS 7 platform along with SIMS Dinner Money and SIMS Attendance, bringing key data into one central system. This made information easier to access, process, and share, cut dinner register reconciliation from a full morning to about 30 minutes, improved parental communication, and supported reporting for school improvement. Beal Vale also gained stronger links with tools such as Purple Mash, Wonde, InVentry, and CPOMS, and SIMS now helps leadership track pupil progress more efficiently.
