Rimac Technology, a manufacturer of electric hypercars, faced a challenge with an aging on-premises high-performance computing (HPC) cluster that could not keep up with its exponentially growing demand for engineering simulation resources. Partnering with vendor Simr, the company sought to optimize innovation and achieve meaningful cost savings by moving these workloads to the cloud.

Simr implemented a fully automated, self-service engineering simulation platform within Rimac's Azure account. The solution involved designing and configuring the Azure cloud environment specifically for Rimac's needs, which included cloud-enabling Ansys and other CAE software. Using Simr's platform powered by Azure HPC infrastructure, Rimac's engineers achieved improved performance for their battery and powertrain simulations, leading to new cost efficiencies.
