Knight Systems, a small UK fire and security business, was running a clunky server-based system without end-to-end workflows or modern integrations. After Peter Farnell bought the company in January 2020 he prioritised bringing in Simpro (signed up May 2020) to streamline maintenance workflows, protect recurring revenue through the COVID-19 disruption, and support expansion into larger projects while migrating a large existing customer database.
Simpro delivered its cloud workflow software via a dedicated Implementation Consultant working with a Knight Systems Simpro Champion, using the provided spreadsheet import template to remotely migrate 1,300+ customers and 2,200+ contracts. The Xero integration and Maintenance Planner gave Knight Systems clearer margin and cost visibility across 15–20 income accounts, enabled forecasting, improved ordering and asset records, and automated 100–150 monthly recurring invoices—significantly boosting operational efficiency and recurring revenue.
