Heron Plumbing, an Auckland-based plumbing firm with 28+ employees, was burdened by paper-based processes and inefficient software after the current owners took over. Seeking a field-to-office solution that integrated with their accounting package, allowed quick job notes, photos and sign-offs, and could handle both maintenance and large contracting jobs with multiple cost centres, they implemented simPRO.
simPRO automated purchasing and invoicing (including supplier catalogue integrations with Plumbing World and MICO), synced directly with Xero to eliminate double entry, and cut back-office admin so staff could take on safety and other roles. As a result of simPRO, Heron Plumbing tripled turnover over nine years without increasing office headcount and gained faster reconciliation and tighter financial control.
