Blue Wave Communications, a Broward County, Florida commercial technology services firm, was operating with multiple disconnected systems for estimating, job management and accounting, relying on manual entry and handwritten technician forms that obscured job profitability and drove inventory losses. To solve these problems, Blue Wave implemented Simpro’s field service management software with onsite implementation and training to consolidate workflows and replace paper-based processes.
Simpro’s solution enabled technicians to enter time in the field, gave project managers daily visibility into job status and purchase orders, and centralized materials and invoicing workflows. The impact included payroll processing time cut from multiple days to multiple hours, invoicing issued at least one week sooner, inventory write-offs reduced from about $18,000 to under $500 across recent annual counts (a >$17,000 improvement), and overtime down 75–80%, while overall job visibility and accuracy significantly improved.
