Modern Music - Customer Case Study

Modern Music is a Coventry-based instrumental school teaching guitar, drums and bass that had been using SimplyBook.me to manage in-person lessons. When COVID-19 made face-to-face teaching impossible, the studio faced the twin challenges of moving lessons online quickly and solving music-specific issues like sound quality, latency and feedback.

They adapted by equipping teachers and students with electric instruments and direct audio interfaces, chose Google Meet for its simplicity and sound quality, and reconfigured SimplyBook.me—hiding in-person services, creating new online offerings, updating tutor availability and the website. The transition took only a few hours, maintained strong student interest, preserved bookings and payments via Stripe, reduced admin by around 80%, and positioned the school to continue operating (and potentially expand fully online).
