A Simply Do Case Study
SBRI Centre of Excellence, hosted by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and funded by Welsh Government, needed a better way to connect innovative suppliers with healthcare challenges in Wales. The team was relying on a manual email process and Word-based submissions, which was time-consuming for both staff and suppliers. Simply Do provided an end-to-end open innovation workflow to streamline supplier engagement and challenge management.
With Simply Do’s platform, SBRI Centre of Excellence automated submissions, supplier qualification, panel assessments, and communications, while also improving branding, challenge creation, and support features like live chat and a central inbox. The result was faster, more efficient challenge delivery, better quality supplier submissions, stronger reporting, and wider engagement with small businesses; to date, 29 innovation challenges have been delivered, over 600 ideas have been created, £12.1 million in grant funding has been allocated, and 87% of submitted solutions came from businesses with fewer than 50 employees.
