Los Angeles Department Of City Planning Automates Payment Process With SimpliGov Platform

The Los Angeles Department of City Planning faced a challenge when statewide shutdown orders prevented applicants from paying for appeals in person, halting a critical process for zoning and land use changes. To continue operations during the pandemic, LADCP engaged SimpliGov and its implementation partner Novinzio to automate its payment process using the SimpliGov workflow automation platform.

SimpliGov implemented a cloud-based solution that integrated with the city's Elavon payment processor, enabling applicants to pay fees online. The solution was deployed in just four weeks, eliminating the need for in-person visits and creating a seamless digital workflow. This provided a better experience for both government employees and residents, allowing them to submit payments and forms anytime to keep projects moving forward.
