Optimized Site Design Increases Bookings

Visit Pittsburgh partnered with Simpleview to improve the performance of its annual Pittsburgh is Kidsburgh vacation package campaign. The paid search effort was driving traffic to the site, but Simpleview’s analysis found that very few visitors were clicking through to the booking engine, creating a missed opportunity for ticket and hotel bookings.

Simpleview optimized the landing page by moving a clearer, high-contrast call-to-action above the fold and removing extra steps needed to reach the Kidsburgh booking page. This reduced friction in the booking path and delivered strong results: a 254% increase in pageviews for the Kidsburgh package year-over-year, a 75% increase in attraction ticket sales, a 70% increase in product revenue, a 103% increase in package hotel rooms, and a 50% increase in product revenue.
