Kansas Generates New Revenue with DTN

Kansas Tourism partnered with Simpleview to create a new way to fund and support its state tourism website, TravelKS.com. The challenge was to monetize the site without using internal resources while also providing a targeted online marketing opportunity for tourism-related businesses across Kansas, including DMOs, museums, tour operators, transportation companies, and lodging.

Simpleview’s Destination Travel Network (DTN) launched a turnkey digital advertising program on TravelKS.com, handling ad serving, sales, creative, campaign management, and reporting. The result was dozens of participating advertisers, including more than 10 city-level DMOs, thousands of dollars in new monthly revenue, over 6.5 million impressions in 2015, and more than 20,000 leisure-traveler referrals, with CTRs of .35% overall and nearly 2% for sponsored header images.
