Rejection Therapy founder Jia Jiang — an entrepreneur, author and TED speaker who helps people overcome the fear of rejection — wanted to scale his coaching beyond blog posts and a book into an app-driven program that could guide individuals through daily challenges and capture results. To test whether people would actually take on deliberate rejection tasks and to deliver those prompts at scale, Jiang signed up for a SimpleTexting plan and used SMS as the initial distribution and engagement channel.

Using SimpleTexting, Jiang sent daily rejection challenges to a select group of followers and tracked participation and outcomes. The experiment proved people would do the tasks: participants reported measurable behavior change (salespeople made calls and closed deals they previously avoided, others reconnected with family), and even anecdotal highlights like one participant getting her first kiss.
