How Central Church Uses Keywords to Engage and Inform Its Congregation

Central Church, a religious organization in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, serves about 2,000 weekly attendees across two locations. Before working with SimpleTexting, the church relied on social media, email, and website bulletins, but it was difficult to keep such a large congregation informed and to respond quickly to member inquiries.

Using SimpleTexting, Central Church added SMS keywords, automated replies, two-way texting, and mass text lists to support services like baptisms, prayer reminders, volunteer coordination, and student ministry updates. The church also began assigning team members to manage different contact lists and is working on an integration with Planning Center to keep data current; as a result, Central Church says texting has made it much easier to reach the right people, with messages being seen almost immediately.
