How Tripadvisor’s Next-Generation Data Infrastructure is Powering a Next-Generation Marketing Experience

Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel review site with roughly 390 million monthly users, faced a post-cookie, post-COVID shift that left marketing slow and fragmented: campaign deployment relied on engineering, there was no single customer view for true personalization, machine learning was hard to operationalize, and teams were siloed. To modernize, Tripadvisor turned to Simon Data, implemented alongside Snowflake, to rebuild a next-generation data and marketing infrastructure.

Using Simon Data’s bidirectional integration with Snowflake and a low-/no-code interface, Tripadvisor created a unified customer view and empowered marketers to build hyper-segmented, automated, multichannel journeys without heavy engineering support. The Simon Data solution enabled faster campaign creation (what once required hours of engineering can now be executed in the UI), richer ML-driven segmentation (e.g., personalized hotel price-drop alerts), and more integrated cross-channel execution — driving greater efficiency, stronger use of first‑party data, and higher customer engagement.
