iHealth, founded by celebrity fitness coach Scott Alexander, needed to deepen engagement with its members and deliver a more accurate, clinically validated fitness monitoring and coaching experience across mobile and web. Simform partnered with iHealth to support its digital product vision for the Cardioguru (iTrainU) app, which uses fitness data and tracker integrations to measure performance and help trainers follow progress over time.
Simform used an agile, lean product-development approach to build and evolve the solution, creating apps for iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, and the web, along with a CMS for managing workout content. The team implemented a modern modular MVVM+C architecture and integrated third-party fitness devices and secure Bluetooth data syncing, resulting in a tested, accurate app with real-time workout insights, HRM accuracy, and %HR zones reached, plus better reusability, maintainability, and faster development.
