A SimCorp Case Study
SOKA-BAU, a non-profit organization managing pension and leave funds for Germany's construction sector, faced limitations with its existing systems. Their architecture, comprised of multiple systems and in-house tools, could not handle a broad range of asset classes, created operational inefficiencies, and caused reconciliation issues, particularly in risk management. Seeking a scalable, cross-asset class solution to consolidate operations, they turned to vendor SimCorp and its SimCorp Dimension platform.
The solution implemented was SimCorp Dimension, a front-to-back investment platform providing multi-asset class coverage. SimCorp replaced four incumbent systems, delivering a single source of investment truth. This enabled greater automation, reduced operational costs, and provided transparent, real-time risk analysis. The consolidation allowed SOKA-BAU to produce ad-hoc risk reports and, notably, win a Best Risk Management award in 2020/2021, all while safeguarding pension assets for its members.
