PKA - Customer Case Study

PKA, Denmark’s fourth largest pension fund with EUR 33.6 billion in AUM and a SimCorp client since 2005, faced growing operational complexity as its private debt holdings expanded. Managing loans in the Bond Module required extensive manual handling of static data, incorrect terminology (e.g., “buy/sell” instead of “drawdown/paydown”), and Excel-based commitment tracking, increasing operational risk and reporting complexity.

SimCorp partnered with PKA to build a Private Debt module in SimCorp Dimension, with PKA acting as a development partner and pilot client. The new module delivered one set of static data per facility, fewer transactions, built-in commitment management (replacing spreadsheets), support for block trades and payment‑in‑kind, and a connected IBOR—reducing manual work and operational risk and giving PKA earlier access to the functionality and a competitive edge.
