Case Study: KLP achieves greater stability and cloud-ready scalability with SimCorp managed services

Moving core IT platform and data management capabilities to the cloud

KLP, a subsidiary of Norway’s largest pension fund, faced rising complexity in its in-house IT and data management operations and needed a more scalable way to support its core investment platform, SimCorp Dimension, while freeing internal resources for strategic work. The company also wanted to modernize its reference data management and move toward a cloud-based operating model with SimCorp.

SimCorp helped KLP transition SimCorp Dimension from on-premise to managed operations, launching Application Management Service (AMS), Validation and Test services, and a hosted Oracle setup, then delivering SimCorp Gain in the Cloud for reference data management. The result was stronger stability, constant monitoring, immediate risk mitigation, no downtime even during the pandemic, extended database server life by three to four years, faster implementation of new modules, and improved data quality.
