KLP, Norway’s largest life insurer, faced a fragile, spreadsheet‑heavy front‑office environment that struggled to integrate with multiple electronic trading venues and meet growing regulatory and audit‑trail requirements. Seeking to replace their internally developed system and unify data across the organization, KLP selected SimCorp and its SimCorp Dimension Front Office Suite to extend an existing relationship and address front‑office, middle‑office and back‑office needs.

SimCorp implemented SimCorp Dimension across KLP’s front, middle and back office, providing predefined connections to execution platforms, moving processes out of Excel, and enabling execution and decision‑making directly from the platform. As a result, KLP reduced reliance on spreadsheets, achieved substantially improved data quality (described as moving “from quite good to really good”), now runs all main processes except risk estimation in SimCorp Dimension, has fewer data reconciliation issues, better oversight of open orders and FX positions, stronger regulatory compliance, and a more scalable, robust IT foundation.
