Case Study: ATP (Denmark’s EUR 125bn pension fund) achieves system consolidation and improved transparency with SimCorp’s Alternative Investments Manager

A SimCorp Case Study

Preview of the ATP Case Study

Consolidating with Alternative Investments Manager

ATP is ATP, a self‑governing Danish pension institution managing EUR 125 billion and serving 5.2 million members. Facing growing complexity from a large and expanding alternatives book (real estate, infrastructure, private equity, credit, etc.), ATP wanted to consolidate two platforms into a single source of truth. They had used SimCorp Dimension since 2000 and opted to standardize on SimCorp’s Alternative Investments Manager to replace a specialist third‑party system that was causing integration, scaling and key‑man risks.

ATP migrated its alternatives into SimCorp’s Alternative Investments Manager integrated with SimCorp Dimension within a 3–4 month deadline and on budget, using a focused ATP–SimCorp project team and standardized delivery packages. The move delivered one position system (removing the second system), removed integration headaches, improved transparency and look‑through analysis across 1,000+ investments, sped time to market, and streamlined finance and risk processes. SimCorp’s solution reduced complexity, avoided hidden risk and enabled faster, more consistent reporting and controls for ATP.
