A SimCorp Case Study
Ashmore, a specialist Emerging Markets asset manager, faced an inflexible legacy IT platform that constrained growth, required replacement of its middle-office system, and made consolidation of investment data and global scaling difficult. To solve this, Ashmore implemented SimCorp Dimension from SimCorp in 2008 to provide broader functionality, scalability and a single Investment Book of Record (IBOR) to reduce manual processes and support a global operating model.
SimCorp replaced Ashmore’s legacy systems with SimCorp Dimension, delivering a central IBOR, standardized interfaces, simplified architecture and semi‑annual product releases to enable faster integration and streamlined global processes. The outcome: Ashmore expanded to 12 offices in 10 countries, grew assets by 67% (an increase of USD 23.6bn to USD 58.9bn between 2010–2015), achieved zero growth in IT support headcount and reduced global middle office staff by 5%, demonstrating clear operational scalability and cost efficiency enabled by SimCorp.
