Access to System- and School- Level Data Increases Transparency and Accountability

Barrow County Schools, a charter system serving 9,362 students across 17 schools, faced the challenge of aligning the work of schools that operate with both district and local governance boards. To increase transparency and ensure consistent implementation of district vision, mission and goals, Barrow County adopted Simbli’s integrated governance and planning software to manage board and School Governance Team meetings, policies, strategic plans, evaluations and Balanced Scorecards.

Using Simbli, stakeholders access cascaded system- and school-level meetings, policies and action plans, while system- and school-based Balanced Scorecards provide disaggregated performance data to identify gaps and guide improvement. The platform also posts meeting minutes publicly, processes evaluations privately and links work to specific goals—streamlining governance, raising transparency and accountability, enabling data-driven decisions, and contributing to recognitions like eBOARDSolutions awards and the GSBA Exemplary School Board honor.
