Dartmouth Health advances Airway Noodle prototyping with SimBex and a 5mm-to-working-size design

Dartmouth Health's IDEA Lab innovators faced the challenge of making awake intubation procedures safer and more comfortable for patients, as the rigid tubes currently used cause complications and require general anesthesia. They engaged vendor Simbex and its medical device engineering services to help create a proof-of-concept prototype for their novel solution, the Airway Noodle, to aid in fundraising efforts.

Simbex applied its commercialization-minded approach to engineering to develop a visual representation and working prototypes of the Airway Noodle. This solution can be delivered at a reduced size and expanded in place, minimizing patient discomfort. As a result, the IDEA Lab received an accurate and effective set of visuals to communicate the product's benefits to investors, facilitating the next steps in their fundraising and communication strategy.
