A Silktide Case Study
Aberdeenshire Council’s small centralized publishing team needed a better way to manage a huge corporate website with limited staff, no in-house technical resource, and a growing list of accessibility, content quality, and broken-link issues. With up to 150 content publishers feeding the site, the council also struggled to keep tone, terminology, and older pages consistent, while improving accessibility knowledge across the organization.
Silktide gave Aberdeenshire Council a single platform to scan the whole site, surface accessibility and content issues, check broken links accurately, apply custom policies, and automatically prioritize fixes. The team said Silktide saved time even before implementation by generating priorities automatically, improved confidence in accessibility fixes through clearer guidance, and reduced reliance on manual testing for things like mobile checks. While the project was still early, the council reported stronger progress, easier onboarding for student team members, and a more reliable, user-friendly workflow with Silktide.
