Soccour Solutions, a Dallas-based business solutions provider, needed a flexible SaaS option for a client’s scientific and geological interpretation software used in the oil and gas industry. During the COVID-19 shift to remote work, the application’s physical Linux server could not deliver the performance needed to process hundreds of thousands of files quickly and reliably.

Silk implemented its Cloud Data Platform on AWS to decouple data from the underlying infrastructure and enable fast caching and access to files in the cloud. With Silk, Soccour saw performance jump from 1.6 MB/s on native AWS to 400 MB/s, delivering 40–60% faster performance and enough improvement for the customer to continue expanding use of the solution.
