Fintraffic builds Maritime Single Window with Siili Solutions for 100 daily vessel arrivals

Fintraffic, through its VTS unit, faced the challenge of implementing a national Maritime Single Window (NEMO) to comply with an EU regulation aimed at harmonizing port operations. The existing process for port notifications was complex, costly, and error-prone, involving numerous stakeholders for each vessel. Siili Solutions was engaged to design and build this system, which required creating a holistic vision for the future of maritime logistics in Finland.

Siili Solutions designed and built the NEMO platform using a collaborative approach that included extensive stakeholder interviews and workshops. The solution utilizes event-based architecture to create a neutral data platform that enhances data reusability and transparency, streamlining port operations through digitalization and automation. While the full system launch is scheduled for Autumn 2025, the vision concept was completed by June 2022, setting the stage for a new chapter in Finnish shipping that is expected to significantly increase national productivity.
