Missional Moms Organize Hope in Charleston Following Church Attack

Missional Moms, affiliated with Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, SC, faced an urgent challenge after the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church tragedy in Charleston: organizing food for nine funerals and coordinating hundreds of volunteers quickly. With offers of help pouring in through Facebook, they turned to SignUpGenius to manage the large response and keep the effort organized.

Using SignUpGenius, Missional Moms uploaded email addresses to create a master list, set up food drop-off and donation slots, and shared the signup link on social media to reach even more helpers. The response filled the first funeral signup by the next morning, and over the following days the group fed thousands of mourners. SignUpGenius made it possible to coordinate nearly 500 volunteers and complete the task with ease.
