The City of Edinburgh Council boosts park safety with Signify’s first UK SunStay Gen2 Hybrid solar luminaires

The City of Edinburgh Council faced the challenge of enhancing safety in its public parks, specifically at Baronscourt Park, while adhering to ambitious sustainability goals. They needed reliable pathway lighting that would reduce energy dependence and protect the local ecology. To address this, the Council partnered with vendor Signify.

Signify implemented a solution featuring SunStay Gen2 Hybrid solar luminaires and Interact City smart lighting management software. This system uses solar power and motion sensors, switching to the grid only when necessary. The results made Baronscourt Park the first UK site with this technology, achieving significant energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and enhanced safety for park users while minimizing ecological impact.
